John Wigle lives in Rockville, Maryland. He currently is the Public Advocate for the American Indian Society of Washington, DC (AIS). A Public Advocate is a person who represents the American Indian and Alaskan Native community at large in matters of public concern such as civil rights, fair treatment, equal opportunity, treaty obligations and religous rights and freedoms. He is also an ordained minister, and fully understands the issues of American Indian Religious Freedom Act. AIS is a non-profit 501(c)(4) tax exempt civic organization.
Mr. Wigle by profession is a Senior Information Systems &
Telecommunications Engineer for
, a federal research and development center. In his
spare time Mr. Wigle sings and drums with
Spring Creek Singers which is a Northern Powwow Drum. A tape
of the Spring Creek Singers is available through Sunshine Records.
