This is one of the dreamcatchers I do.
It is about 4 feet in total height and is a total of 4 dreamcatchers in
one, although the very bottom one is hard to view since it is turned
sideways. I usually go on dreamcatcher making binges, or marathons as I
call them and am in the middle of one right now for some local shops
(tourist season is almost here!).

This picture is my daughter's dance shawl. She is going to be 3
this May and is showing an interest in fancy shawl dancing. It is a bit large
for her but I made it so she can grow into it, which by the way she will be next
year.

I did this rosette on a whim..
basically to practice my round rosette skills since I have done very
few. I have done many freehand things such as my bear necklace which I
will add to this site at a later date, but not too many round ones. I
made it into a barrette since it goes with almost
anything and it measures 4 inches in diameter. A very large barrette!

This isn't the greatest picture and
I do plan on retaking and replacing it in the future. This is my
daughter modeling my first glengarry style hat. The Iroquois women
started making these after seeing the Scottish men in theirs. It is made
of black velvet and lined with black satin. The beadwork is is done in a
traditional Tuscarora style where the beads are laid on top of each
other to give a "raised" appearance. |
