My Family Research


My family (mother's side) is from Bertie County, NC. That is where my Tuscarora roots lie. Her mother (my grandmother) Emma Ward Smallwood was born in a section known as Snakebite/Piney Woods. Her father (my grandfather) Charles White Smallwood was born in a section known as Indian Woods. Indian Woods used to be a Tuscarora Reservation until the 1800's.
