Hello, my name is Rhoadie and I am a Research Assistant. I currently work with a history Professor, Dr. Arwin Smallwood (University of Memphis) and our area of interest is the Tuscarora Nation and the multi-ethnic communities that were formed as the Tuscarora migrated out of North Caralina. I am an African American of Tuscarora descent. My mother's side of the family is from Indian Woods and Piney Woods/Snakebite both located in Bertie County, NC. I look forward to learning more about my Native Roots and how they relate to the overall African American experience. Besides research I also enjoy blogging, dancing, and reading. Why We Fail In Life



One morning I was praying and asking God, "Why do we fail in life?” I was looking at areas of my life I was failing in, and wondered why His Children failed so much when we have the power of Almighty God within us. Suddenly, I started thinking about algebra. In algebra you must be familiar with the correct formulas in order to solve the problems. Not only do you have to know the correct formula, you also have to know how to apply it. The correct formula in the wrong place will still give you the WRONG ANSWER.

Like algebra, there are certain principles in the Earth that works for anyone using them. This is why you have wicked people who prosper because they apply certain principles to their lives. A person doesn't necessarily have to be a good person for these principles to work.

Examples of Biblical Principles

Proverbs 10:4: He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.
Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard (lazy person) craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made fat.
Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, But everyone who is hasty (wants everything fast) comes surely to poverty.
