It is exactly what I was looking for. It will be in a slideshow during the opening ceremonies of the North York Relay for Life this coming Friday June 25th, while all of the luminaries are being lit. This is the wording that I sent along with the picture: ££ ££"My friend Corinne was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of 2010 and had both breasts removed mid-February. She is not only a fighter, but a warrior. She is the kind of person who takes an ugly situation and turns it in to a positive teaching for the people around her. She is a giver, a helper and a community organizer. Despite a very painful recovery, she has started up a cancer support group for women in her community. Her goal is to educate people not only about cancer prevention, but about the recovery process and the long road to health. She was even interviewed by Rogers TV yesterday to talk about her community outreach! ££ ££Corinne helped me though a tough time years ago, and helping her get her story out is the very least I can do to 'pay it forward' in her honour." ££ ££I love you, Corinne. I'm sorry we haven't talked on the phone or seen each other in person yet this year, but when the timing is right, we will, and I'm sure it will seem like no time has passed since our last visit. I feel like I talk to you all the time because I read your facebook statuses and updates and see all of the wonderful things you are doing. Meegwetch for being so open and for sharing the TRUTH (the good and the bad)... that is SO important. ££ ££The Relay for Life is at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York, from 7pm to 7am. I haven't reached my personal fundraising goal quite yet, but to date, our team of 6 people has raised $2,905.00!!! And our team goal is $3000.00 so we're right on track. ££ ££Can you send me information about your support groups, in case I meet anyone from the KW area at the Relay? There will be thousands of survivors, supporters and visitors there, and I'd be happy to tell any part of your story that you'd like me to tell. ££ ££ ££ ££ ££xoxo ££Melissa ££ ££&& font#Lucida Console&&Black&&3&&i&& text#Melissa Hammell This Friday, Jon and I will be participating in the North York Relay forLife. We're walking with our cousin Bronwen, a thyroid cancer survivorand the chair of the event. I'm also walking for Corinne Vautour Villemaire, who is doing amazing outreach work in her community to support other survivors.
